Pace Goes to Park City

Here comes the Sun…dance Film Festival. Dyson BFA acting student Anne Friedman, BA Theater Arts-Acting student Jake Robbins, and Professor Julie Fain Lawrence are all headed to the 2013 film festival, where they all have a film premiering.

Every year, the Sundance Film Festival receives close to 12,000 submissions. Celebrities and film buffs will travel to Park City, Utah, in January 2013 to discover the next big films, directors, and actors. And this year, three members of Pace’s Performing Arts program are among that elite group with films premiering at Sundance.

BFA Acting student Anna Friedman has a supporting role in Sundance’s NEXT category feature film Milkshake, directed by David Andalman, who she has worked with on three other projects (two as the starring lead.)

Julie Fain Lawrence, a full-time lecturer in the BFA Acting Program, has a leading role in the upcoming film Concussion, which is one of 16 films selected to compete for the U.S. Dramatic Competition at Sundance.

BA Theater Arts-Acting major Jake Robbins has a role in Interior. Leather Bar, which is a New Frontiers selection, and is directed by and stars Golden Globe Award winner, James Franco.
