A War in Her Shoes, B%$H! Bad, The Violence Against Women Act Ambush, My Lady My Heroine Banquet. Omega Phi Beta will open up your eyes and minds as they present their 5th Annual Week of Illumination in PLV.

In Sao Paulo, Brazil, a woman is assaulted every 15 seconds. In Guatemala, two women are murdered, on average, each day. In South Africa, a woman is killed every 6 hours by an intimate partner. In the United States, one-third of women murdered each year are killed by intimate partners. The War on Women is all over the world.  Join the sisters of Omega Phi Beta sorority on March 4-9 as they raise awareness about violence against women through a series of events in PLV as part of their 5th Annual Week of Illumination: Your Bodies, Our Battlefields.

The Violence Against Women Act, the 1994 landmark law which combined tough new provisions to hold offenders accountable with programs to provide services for the victims of such violence including the establishment of the Office on Violence Against Women within the Department of Justice, has expired. Join Omega Phi Beta for an interactive night of exploring a much-debated piece of legislation! Co-sponsored with Phi Kappa Tau.

OPB concludes their entertaining and education week with a festive night of illumination and empowerment, as they highlight the realities of violence against women and honor survivors and advocates working to eliminate the War on Women. The cost is $12 for a student ticket, $15 for outside guests. You can purchase your tickets here.
