Black Empowerment Week

February is Black History Month, so what better time for BSU to celebrate Black Empowerment Week with Jeopardy, a poetry slam, date auction, food, and more!

Black Student Union (BSU) kicked off Black Empowerment Week on February 9 and 10 with BSU and NPHC’s trip to Washington, D.C., but the fun in PLV begins on Monday, February 11, when BSU hosts a Be Thankful For Your Rights Jeopardy game and discussion from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the Gottesman Room.

On Tuesday, February 12, BSU and GSA team up for an important discussion on LGBTQA and black culture at 9:00 p.m. in the Setters Lounge.

Bring your spoken word and slam skills, or even singing and dancing to the Pace Perk on Wednesday, February 13, as BSU presents the Unity Poetry Slam from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Valentine’s Day is Thursday, February 14, and what better way to spend it than with their 2nd annual Isn’t He Lovely blind date auction and a special performance by the 808’s step team? The event costs $3, which is a nice price for finding a soulmate…or just a date. 9:00 p.m. to midnight in the Gottesman Room, so be there…or eat your candygrams at home.

Finally, spend your Sunday with BSU on February 17 as they host their annual Sunday Night Dinner from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in Butcher Suite. The sweetest Sunday dinner you’ll find for just $3.
