Nothing But Net

The Pace men’s and women’s basketball teams tip off against Le Moyne in a doubleheader on November 14. And that’s just the first home game: Thanksgiving can drive, Minute to Win It, 4-shot challenge, and a whole lot more hoopla.

It all begins on Wednesday, November 14, when Pace Basketball hosts its first home game of the season. Watch the Setters men’s and women’s basketball teams as they take on the LeMoyne Dolphins at the Pace Pride Tip Off Classic beginning at 5:30 p.m. for the women’s team and 7:30 p.m. for the men’s team. The Pace Drumline will perform during half-time at the women’s game and the cheerleading team brightens up the Goldstein Fitness Center during the men’s half-time. There will also be two special contests during both games’ half-times: a tic-tac-toe layup competition and Minute to Win It competition.

Then on Saturday, November 17, the ladies host Felician at 1:30 p.m. during a special Can They Do It game, featuring a Thanksgiving can drive (bring a can in and receive reduced admission), half-time Minute to Win It Thanksgiving Edition (apple stack up—winner takes home a free turkey), Hoop Heads Camp Reunion Day and autographed photos and free admission for participants, and a half-time cheer performance, T-Bone’s Movie Madness, and Dress Like a Setter.

On Tuesday, November 20, the men’s team joins the women’s team in another doubleheader against American International. The game will also mark the 2nd Annual Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night, featuring special recognition, faculty speaking on pregame radio show, a special faculty and staff basketball game during men’s half-time, and a 4-Shot Challenge during the women’s half-time for a pair of Beats headphones.

And that’s not all. It’s a whole new ball game this year as Pace Athletics announces tons of news. For the first time, Pace basketball will be covered on WFAS AM 1230 local radio throughout Westchester County. A formal new “Student Fan Zone” in the west end of the arena is the place to be, for both rooting on your Setters and filling your tummies each Saturday home doubleheader with free food for students provided by a local Pace Athletics sponsor and giveaway items to use during the game. In addition, SAAC has created a Student Fan Zone t-shirt for the season which will be sold for $3 at each game to be worn in the student section. All proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Pace basketball season will include many theme nights and giveaways for fans to enjoy including the annual Pace Basketball “White-Out,” Women’s Basketball Alumni Day and Men’s Basketball Alumni Day, Greek Night, and Ski into Spring where one student will be able to win two tickets to Miami for spring break.

With the addition of both the radio and fan zone, many sponsors will be supporting various promotions throughout each game for fans to enjoy. Academic Federal Credit Union will provide $50 cash to one lucky Pace student each game. In addition, the spirit squad, which is made up of both the cheer and dance teams, will be performing during timeouts and halftime of each game and the Pace Drum Line will make their return to the Goldstein Fitness Center to perform to elevate the game day atmosphere. This year, there will be additional “Minute to Win It” challenges during timeouts and halftime to engage the fans and give away great prizes throughout the year, such as movie tickets and gift cards to local restaurants.
