According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, adults drank too much and got behind the wheel about 112 million times in 2010–that’s almost 300,000 incidents of drinking and driving each day.
That’s why Tau Kappa Epsilon will host a DUI Lecture featuring guest speaker Mark Sterner, who will tell his powerful story about how a spring break trip before graduation turned into a nightmare.
Just three months before graduating from college, Mark Sterner and four of his fraternity brothers were partying on Spring Break with their whole lives ahead of them, until they decided on the final night of the trip that the least drunk person would drive home. The next morning, three of his friends were dead, and Mark was in a hospital facing three felony counts of DUI manslaughter. Instead of being the first in his family to graduate college, Mark ended up the first member of his family to go to prison.
Stop by the Gottesman Room on October 24 from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. to hear Mark’s powerful story.
