In this week’s Career Corner, a Lunch and Learn on careers in film and television with reps from MTV, ABC, and Nickelodeon, your 30-second pitch, a panel discussion on careers in animation, the big Technology Career Fair, and more!

On October 18, the Fine Arts department presents its fall Career in the Arts lecture, Funny Business: Careers in Animation for TV, Film, and Print, a panel discussion about getting started as a cartoonist or animator, featuring award-winning artists/producers Thu Tran, a sculptor, performer, and creator of The IFC Channel’s Food Party TV as well as creator of tour visuals for the musician, Girl Talk and Gary Leib, New Yorker and RAW cartoonist, film score composer, New York Times animator, and Hershey’s toy designer.

Interested in learning how to make a dream career in television or film a reality? Stop by Lunch and Learn—Careers in Film and Television on October 19 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Boardrooms North and South for some free pizza and to meet with a panel of professionals who have successful careers in film and television. Representatives from ABC, MTV, and Nickelodeon, and Oscar-nominated independent filmmakers will be present!

Are you an international student interested in making the most of your job search in the U.S.? Stop by the next International Student Career Café on October 20 in NYC for some coffee and conversation on building communication skills.

On October 25, learn what to say and do when you meet a recruiter and make the most of your time at career fairs at How to Work a Career Fair/Your 30-Second Pitch. Come prepared to work on your 30 second pitch.

Whether it is your first, second, or even third interview, knowing what to expect is crucial. On October 27, learn the ins and outs of advanced interviewing, including learning to effectively communicate your qualifications and experience using the STAR technique.

This all leads up to the big Technology Career Fair on November 2 in NYC! The Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems, in partnership with Career Services, cordially invites you to attend their annual Technology Career Fair. Meet recruiters looking to hire interns and experienced professionals and network with Pace alumni working in the tech industry.
