Career Services has a lot going on so let’s just get right to it.
Clear your calendars on November 16 and 17 because there’s a whole lot happening!
On November 16, Pace marketing guru Larry Chiagouris reveals the secret to getting a job after college; an HR rep from Penguin Group USA tells you why book publishing isn’t just for English majors at 3:30 p.m. in Lecture Hall South; Director and Chief Curator of the Public Art Fund Nicholas Baume discusses Careers in the Arts; and for those of you interested in pursuing that law degree, find out what the next steps are for applying to law school.
On to November 17! From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., celebrate National Career Development Day in NYC’s Student Union with free resume review, games to test your career smarts, raffles and giveaways, free popcorn, and even some career fortune telling. Sounds like a perfect day to us. And you can add to it by picking up a full-time job or internship opportunity later in the afternoon at the Technology Career Fair in NYC. Some of the more than 30 employers attending include Apple, AT&T, Clear Channel Radio, Morgan Stanley, and McGraw-Hill, so come dressed to impress with as many resumes as you can carry! Also on November 17, CCAR in PLV is tabling for sophomores interested in hearing about Careers that Make a Difference; Graduate students should stop by to hear about job strategies in the current market from Merrill Lynch Private Wealth Management Advisor Jesse Clinton.
And don’t forget to get a leg up on your competition by picking up some skills! In PLV, attend a resume workshop on November 15 and an interview workshop on November 17. In NYC, check out interview workshops on November 12 and 16 and co-op orientation workshops on November 18 and 19.
