Tina Fey…That’s right, TINA FEY, will be in James Lipton’s hot seat on Tuesday, February 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Schimmel.

If she needs an introduction, Tina Fey is an actress, comedian, writer, and producer, best known for her work on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock. Her films include Mean Girls, Baby Mama, The Invention of Lying, Date Night, Megamind, and the upcoming Admission. Fey has received seven Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, four five Screen Actors Guild Awards, four Writers Guild of America Awards, and has been nominated for a Grammy Award for her autobiographical book Bossypants, which topped the The New York Times best seller list for five weeks…and our hearts for eternity.

In 2008, the Associated Press (AP) gave Fey the AP Entertainer of the Year award for her satirical portrayal of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in a guest appearance on SNL. In 2010, Fey was the recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, the youngest-ever winner of the award. Recently, Fey hosted the Golden Globe Awards, along with her long-time friend and fellow comedian, Amy Poehler (who has also appeared as a guest on Inside the Actors Studio). This was the first time the awards ceremony was hosted by a woman. Their performance was critically acclaimed, with ABC News describing it as “spectacular.”

We know announcing Inside the Actors Studio tapings are always a big hit around here, so we’ve decided (or IAS has given us the opportunity) to give you a pre-finals present: a pet…detective.  You know the guy, his name is Jim Carrey, and he’s starred in some films you may have heard of: Ace Venture: Pet Detective, Dumb & Dumber, The Cable Guy, Liar Liar, The Truman Show, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Batman Forever, The Mask, Man on the Moon, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Horton Hears a Who, etc.

The funnyman, who’s currently promoting his newly-released film, I Love You, Phillip Morris, will be sitting in the hotseat on December 12 at 1:00 p.m. Due to a scheduling conflict with the Pace production of A Christmas Carol, the taping has been moved from the Schimmel Center to Gerald Lynch Theater at John Jay College, but you can still get in!  A Pace ID admits one, space permitting, to the taping. Please note these tickets are STANDBY, as seating is limited. The standby line will form outside of John Jay College at 899 10th Avenue (between 58th and 59 th Streets.) The taping begins at 1:00 p.m. and guests will be admitted at 12:30 p.m. but you should plan to arrive early if you want tickets.

Well, all righty then!

Howling for James Franco

In a little more than 127 Hours, award-winning actor James Franco will be sitting in James Lipton’s hotseat on Inside the Actors Studio at Pace.

On November 10, grab your Pace IDs and head over to the Schimmel Theater to see the two Jameses go head-to-head on one stage. No, we’re not talking about Bond and Dean, though one of them did play the latter in an award-winning film. That’s right, we’re talking about James Franco, who will be sitting in James Lipton’s hotseat on Inside the Actors Studio filmed on the NYC Campus.

Come see how Franco, who has starred in Spiderman (1, 2, and 3), MilkPineapple Express, and the latest Howl and 127 Hours, to name a few, will handle Lipton’s intense line of questioning. The taping begins at 8:00 p.m. but the line forms by the Security ID room on B-level 1 to 1 1/2 hours before show time. Your Pace ID gets you into the taping, space permitting, so don’t forget it in your dorm room!

Cooper! Bradley, that is. You may know him from The Hangover, Wedding Crashers, or even He’s Just Not That Into You (don’t feel bad, it happened to the best of us), but you can thank Actors Studio dean James Lipton who schooled him years ago…really.

In just a few weeks, Bradley Cooper will return to Inside the Actors Studio, and this time he won’t be asking questions as part of his master’s class. He’ll be sitting in the hotseat next to Lipton answering questions from his blue notecards, along with the famous ten Pivot questions. So if you want to hear Bradley Cooper tell you his favorite curse word (hint: it’s not *******) then head over to the Schimmel Theater on October 26 with your Pace ID to get your two tickets, space permitting, to the taping.

The next taping will be on November 10. Oh, you want to know who the guest will be? Well, we’re going to tell you….at a later time. For now, we’re going to Milk the attention for all it’s worth. The person in question is a male. One of his films grossed almost $900 million worldwide; he finished his degree at UCLA with a 62-credit quarter, and his name rhymes with “games panko.” Fine, you win. It’s JAMES FRANCO.
