It Takes Three (Nights) to Tango

A tango tale in three parts, Recuerdo reflects on the present, past, and everyday life through a series of vignettes. Featuring nine outstanding dancers, a quartet and vocalist under the direction of renowned dancer and choreographer Mariela Franganillo and Bob McAndrew, Recuerdo combines both early and modern expressions of tango to explore a variety of forms of memory—ranging in tone from passionate to comical and reaching the boundaries of tender to tormented. Rediscover the vitality of tango at three evenings of impassioned dance on October 17–19 at the Schimmel Theatre.

Dancers include Mariana Parma (Evita, Swing! The Musical, USA Tango Champion) and Hernan Brizuela (Let’s Speak Tango, Gardenias); Ana Padrón and Diego Blanco (Tango 4 All); Walter Perez (Malevaje, Tangou, Fusion Tango, manoAmano) and Leonardo Sardella (Malevaje, Cacho Castagna, Queer Tango Festival); and more. Musical director Pedro Giraudo leads his quartet with original music and is accompanied by the magnificent singer Sofia Tosello.

$5 student tickets and $15 faculty and staff tickets for each event can be purchased in advance at the Schimmel box office. For more information, visit http://schimmel.pace.edu/.
