Pirouettes and Pliés

A little Arabesque demi-plié? A pirouette piquée? The American Ballet Theatre Studio Company takes the Schimmel stage on April 5.

On Friday, April 5, the American Ballet Theatre’s Studio Company returns to the Schimmel for the second year in a row as part of the Pace Presents season

Formerly ABT II, the American Ballet Theatre’s Studio Company is a classical ensemble made up of 12 extraordinary dancers handpicked by ABT, one of the world’s leading classical ballet companies. ABT Studio Company trains young dancers (ages 16-20) in preparation for entering American Ballet Theatre’s main company or other leading national and international professional ballet companies, serving as a bridge between ballet training and professional performance. More than half of the dancers in ABT’s main company began their careers in ABT Studio Company.

The ABC Studio Company will perform works from George Balanchine, Marius Petipa, August Bournonville, Antony Tudor, Paul Taylor, Jerome Robbins, among others.

$5 students available for purchase the day of the show after 12:00 p.m. for both shows. $10 staff/faculty tickets are also available. For more info, visit http://schimmel.pace.edu.
