Ringing in the Lunar New Year

The dragon is swaying out and the snake is slithering in this year as Pace’s Confucius Institute co-hosts the Third Annual Lunar New Year Celebration with NYC Council Member Margaret S. Chin and the New York Chinese Opera Society (NYCOS) on February 3 in Pace’s Schimmel Theatre to mark the Year of the Snake, a symbol of intelligence, cunning, wisdom, and pride.

Kick off the celebration at noon with a pre-performance reception of traditional snacks, Chinese cultural demonstrations, and fortune telling.

Then from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., get treated to an afternoon of everything from live performances from the New York Chinese Opera Society T’ai Chi demonstrations with Master Xu Lin, singing by Yan  Zhang, dancing by the New York Gee How Oak Tin Women’s Committee, raffles, games, dumplings and other food and drinks, and more!
