Athletics at Their Best

There’s more to being a jock than succeeding on the court. Pace Setters love to work their heart muscles too by supporting the community in every way they can.

Come cheer on the Pace Setters football team Saturday, October 6, at 1:00 p.m. in their game against Southern Connecticut State University as they prepare for Greek Kickoff with a Greek Life Olympics during half-time and invite back alumni for Pace’s annual Alumni Day game. Enter giveaways and raffles, wear your free t-shirt in support of National Hazing Prevention, and groove to the beat of the Drum Line.

The Setters also compete against Adelphi University on October 5 at 7:00 p.m. in a conference match-up. This game will be the first edition of the “Pace Goes Pink” campaign for the 2012-2013 school year. The Student Athletic Advisory Committee teamed up with Colleges Against Cancer to embark on year two of the “Pace Goes Pink” Campaign. Women’s volleyball will kick off the campaign for this academic year. “Pace Goes Pink” is a six team campaign to raise money for a local hospital’s Breast Cancer treatment center. Admission is $1 for this game, and “Pace Goes Pink” t-shirts will be available for $5.

The Setters volleyball team will also be participating in Make-A-Difference day as they take on Assumption College on October 6 at 3:30 p.m. in the Goldstein Fitness Center. Bring canned goods to donate to a local food drive. The person to donate the most food will win a Pace Volleyball Prize Pack!
