Jump at the Chance

Jumpstart not only realizes that every child is born with the potential to succeed, they work to make sure that happens. Now’s the time to join Jumpstart at Pace and help one of the nation’s leading nonprofits in the field of early childhood education while paying for college!

Jumpstart at Pace is currently recruiting for the 2012-2013 corps! Corps members have the unique opportunity to inspire young children to learn, provide individualized attention to help children succeed in school and in life, serve in a local community, work on a team, build professional skills, and earn money. Jumpstart relies 100% on college students, community members, and others to volunteer their time and expertise to serve children and instill a life-long love of learning and literacy. So if you’re looking to be a part of something greater, Jumpstart at Pace is it!

To be eligible for consideration, students must have a federal work-study award and be available either Monday/Wednesday 3:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. or Tuesday/Thursday 2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. with 4–6 additional hours each week for outside service, classroom assistance, and training (some night and weekend work is required). Students are paid $10 per hour for 300 hours of service, and will receive a $1,175 AmeriCorps Education Award at the completion of service.

This is a full academic year of service though AmeriCorps and they’re looking for highly motivated and accomplished students who have a passion for service, the early education crisis, and have some leadership, work, or volunteer experience.
