On Tuesday, April 10, Marsha Gordon, DPS ’06, President/CEO of Business Council of Westchester will discuss “Perspectives on Westchester’s Future: Strategies in Economic Development” from 10:10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Kessel Campus Center on the PLV Campus.
As leader of the county’s largest and fastest-growing business organization, Marsha Gordon brings more than 25 years of community, commerce, and leadership experience to the Business Council. Since taking the helm in 2001, she and her team have increased the organization’s membership from 500 to close to 1,000, many of whom credit Gordon’s skill at forging intra-membership relationships for helping their
businesses grow. A sought-after speaker, panelist, and media expert, Gordon is
widely considered the authority on economic development and business climate in
Westchester. In 2010, she founded the Westchester Coalition for Business Development to focus on retention and attraction of jobs in the county.
Recognized as a regional and statewide business leader, Marsha was asked in 2011 by Governor Cuomo to serve on his Mid-Hudson Regional Council–an initiative that brought $38 million dollars home to Westchester.

On Thursday, April 12, Bart Flaherty, CEO of GroupM Business Science, will talk
“Marketing in the Age of Big Data” at two lectures on the NYC Campus. The afternoon lecture will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room, with a reception for students and faculty from 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. For those 9-5ers, there will also be an evening lecture from 5:35 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room.
Bart Flaherty is CEO of GroupM Business Science, the strategic unit of the company charged with developing a clear understanding of clients’ businesses, defining their
marketing challenges, and creating a go-to-market strategy. His expertise lies in helping business partners and clients understand how best to deploy their marketing, media, and retail trade budgets to optimize sales and profit. Prior to joining GroupM in 2007, Flaherty spent 10 years at PepsiCo, first working on the Tropicana business, then as head of the company’s Analytic Best Practice Area, and finally running Pepsi’s Strategy and Analytics Group, where twice in five years he was awarded the prestigious PepsiCo Chairman’s Award, which honors and rewards individuals who have distinguished themselves as truly extraordinary and serve as an inspiration to others.
