Did you know that one in three people will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime?
On April 20, the PLV Campus will join more than 3.5 million people from 4,900 communities across the country to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that touches too many lives.
On February 8, put on your purple and stop by the Relay for Life Welcome Back Kickoff from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the Gottesman Room to learn more about the event, sign up teams and individuals, participate in activities, give a video testimonial about why you relay, enjoy some free food, and find out who the surprise guest is.
Last year, Pace raised more than $43,000 for the American Cancer Society at the 2011 Relay for Life and was honored for having the highest per capita Relay for Life college event in Metropolitan New York in 2011, raising the most money per participant.
The American Cancer Society’s signature event, Relay for Life, is a fun-filled, overnight event that brings people together to raise money for cancer. More than just a walk around a track, activities in the past have included a Rock Band competition, breast cancer bingo, casino night, and live performances. A Survivors Lap will celebrate the victories we’ve achieved over cancer and an emotional Luminaria Ceremony will pay tribute to those affected by cancer with a bright glow of hope that lights up the night. Make a difference today by signing up, joining a team, or simply making a donation. Together, we’re creating a world with more birthdays!
