NYC Events

If you haven’t met the folks at Career Services yet, stop by the Kiosk on the first floor of One Pace Plaza on February 1 to learn all about Career Services at their Spring Internship Kick-Off.

Also on February 1 and 2, Open Hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. where you can meet with a Career Counselor for resume review and help, job search advice, and to get your resume approved for jobs after graduation. Stop by the Career Services office on the 14th Floor of 41 Park Row.

Coming up on February 9 is the Spring 2012 Practice Interview Day, where professionals will be available for practice interview, but you can read more about that here. The deadline to sign up is January 30.

On February 14, grab a slice of pizza and hear from industry professionals about the ways you can incorporate your major and academic studies into careers within specific industries at Lunch & Learn/Break to Educate Series: Careers in Non-Profit/Social Enterprise.

On February 17, spend the morning with Career Services as they partner with “God’s Love We Deliver” to prepare food for critically ill New Yorkers at Career Services Cares! PLV Events

On February 1, Career Services welcomes Diageo to the PLV Campus for the Human Resources Leadership Development Program for the Class of 2012. Human resources, management, and psychology majors are encouraged to attend for the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and build a diverse set of human resource skills in areas such as talent management, recruiting, compensation, learning, employee relations,and organization development. Diageo is the world’s leading global company in 180 countries for spirits, wines,and beer including such brands as Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Smirnoff, J&B, Baileys, Cuervo, Tanqueray, Captain Morgan, Crown Royal, etc.

An Apple a day may keep the doctor away, but it also has the potential for a job on February 2, as Career Services welcomes the Apple Inc.- Leadership Program. Find out how you can be immersed in a multimillion-dollar retail operation and learn every aspect of managing and operating from some of the brightest minds in the industry.

On February 7, learn interviewing tips for your internship and full-time job search and on February 13, learn how to prepare an effective resume to best market yourself and get interviews at  resume writing workshop. Remember, you’ll never get a second chance to make a first impression.

On February 15, Morgan Stanley stops by for their Operations Analyst Summer Internship Program. Learn more about how you can work closely with colleagues to process complex transactions, solve operational problems, and respond to business issues and clients.
