The largest student-led day of action against anti-LGBT bullying and harassment, GLSEN’s Day of Silence, is happening on Friday, April 15, and many students, faculty, and staff at Pace will take a vow of silence to call attention to the silencing effect of anti-LGBT bullying and harassment in schools. Through a day of silence, they show that the collective action is far more powerful than the silence that is forced through bullying. What are you going to do end the silence?
On April 20, join the Stonewall Coalition in the official “breaking the silence” event: Out, Proud, and Loud: Karaoke Night on the NYC Campus. Express yourself through performance and song and show the Pace Community why it’s important to be proud of who you are.
Also on April 26, the LGBTQA Task Force presents its annual LGBTQA Fair, from noon to 4:00 p.m. in front of One Pace Plaza, to raise awareness to crucial issues facing the LGBTQ community. Speakers, poets, performers, and students will share their perspective, ideas for the future, and present ways for people to get involved in the current struggle for equality. Food will be served and stations will be set up to connect people to volunteer opportunities, job listings, and much more. There will also be prizes awarded in a raffle.
