PLV’s Week of Welcome kicks off on January 24 with Comedy Night, featuring stand-up star Will Marfori. Marfori, who was born with cerebral palsy, hasn’t allowed his disability to prevent him from entertaining audiences, performing all over the country including on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
On January 25, Pace Pride Night is your slam dunk choice for a ball and a ball game, and on January 26, the Organization Fair takes over Setter’s Cafe and Gottesman and Nu Zeta Phi gives you the Welcome Back Potluck you deserve.
On January 27, Mugs ‘n Movies makes its debut and will continue throughout the semester. Come to Kessel and sit back, relax, and enjoy a great movie and some free snacks! The first film is The Other Guys, and you can keep up with SDCA on Twitter and Facebook to find out what’s playing throughout the semester.
On January 28, brunch will be served as we honor Martin Luther King, Jr. (read more here) and you can rock out with SDCA at Coffee House with singer, guitarist, and harmonicist Jason LeVasseur, who’s opened for powerhouse acts like Dave Matthews Band, Ludacris, Maroon 5, John Mayer, Ben Folds, and Sugarland at night. LeVasseur will take the stage at 9:00 p.m. and Pace students will get the chance to showcase their talents from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Free food!
On January 29, get lost at sea with NATURE, Pace’s Environmental Club, as you head to Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut for an afternoon of sea lions, penguins, and beluga whales, oh my!
And that’s not all. You know we wouldn’t give you a week of welcome without some awesome discounts. More than 30 Pleasantville businesses are offering a 10% discount for the Pace Community on January 22 and January 23 to honor the end of winter break and the start of the spring semester.
