Pay It Forward

Did you know you can be a teacher to children, mentor, and community leader all while helping pay for school? Pace’s Community and Volunteer Mobilization (CVM) AmeriCorps program, which places members in community and nonprofit organization is now accepting applications for 2011. It’s rewarding in more ways than one!

AmeriCorpsCVM AmeriCorps members are placed in local schools, programs, community-based and non-profit organizations where they serve the community by mentoring middle-school or high-school youth, supporting non-profit capacity-building initiatives, teaching computer or English language skills, or providing training and outreach on public health and safety initiatives. Positions are available at Pace University and in the surrounding community.

Students must be able to commit to a minimum of 8 hours per week for 12 full months — from January 2011 to December 2011.

Group interviews begin in October. To learn more about the program and to apply, please visit: http://www.cvmamericorps.org/
